That's the view from our hotel room.
This is Sugar Loaf. (We asked a few locals, but nobody seems to know why it's call Sugar Loaf.) Oh, well. Relax. Have a drink. It's a pretty view, right?

Actually, there's a cute little story behind this one. On top of the mini-bar in our hotel room, there was a silver platter with two tumbler-type glasses and a small bottle of whiskey. There was also a grey package prominently displayed on the platter. At first, I figured it was some sort of drink mix or something. Upon closer inspection, however, I discovered that it was actually a package of condoms. And not a little discreet thing with just two or three: it was more like TEN!
What else did we discover in our hotel room? An entire page in the back of the hotel directory devoted to the danger of prostitutes and STDs -- replete with cartoon characters doing The Nasty in various positions.("Toto, I have a feeling we're not in Kansas anymore!")
It was really awesome because the little cartoon characters were all happy-faced while Doing It...and then sad-faced when they realized they got more than they bargained for! I wish I was more of a delinquent personality because it would have been great to steal it, scan it, and post it here. But -- I am a wuss and so, alas, no sexy cartoon characters doing the bowm-chica-bowm-bowm for you!
Frankly, we think the picture above captures the basics of Rio:
